New Delhi:

A SpiceJet Hyderabad-Belgaum flight landed on the fallacious finish of the runway at Karnataka’s Belgaum airport on Sunday following which the pilots had been derostered, the airline mentioned on Monday.

The incident came about on Sunday and the plane landed safely.

An airline spokesperson mentioned in a remark that, “On October 24, SpiceJet DASH8 Q400 aircraft operated from Hyderabad to Belgaum. ATC had cleared the aircraft to land on RWY26 (runway 26) at Belgaum. The aircraft, however, landed on RWY08 (runway 8)”.

Because of this the airplane touched down on the different finish of the runway (termed RWY08) on the Belgaum airport as an alternative of the designated finish (RWY26) of the similar runway.

The SpiceJet spokesperson mentioned the plane landed safely and the airline acted “immediately and proactively” on receiving the ideas and knowledgeable DGCA (Directorate Normal of Civil Aviation) and AAIB (Airplane Coincidence Investigation Bureau) about it and straight away off rostered each pilots pending an investigation.
