Thirty-one units of nominations have been filed for the October 30 by-election to the Meeting constituency in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh because the nomination procedure ended on Friday.
The ruling YSR Congress, the BJP and the Congress fielded their applicants for the by-election brought about through the loss of life of sitting legislator G Venkata Subbaiah in March this yr.
The principle opposition Telugu Desam Celebration opted out of the competition “honouring tradition” because the YSR Congress has fielded the widow of the legislator for the by-poll.
The YSR Congress selected Dasari Sudha as its candidate whilst the Congress fielded former MLA P M Kalamamma, who represented the constituency from 2009-14.
The BJP fielded early life chief Panathala Suresh for the competition. Suresh unsuccessfully contested the 2019 election from Railway Koduru constituency in Kadapa district.
BJP’s best friend Jana Sena Celebration mentioned it used to be now not within the by-poll because the widow of the MLA used to be within the fray. Thus, the BJP can be by itself within the battle.
Scrutiny of nominations would happen on October 11 and the final date for withdrawal is October 13.
Result of the by-poll can be declared on November 2.
